A lot of people want to lose weight. With 2/3 of Americans overweight or obese, it's a big problem. A HUGE problem. The weight loss industry is a BILLION dollar industry...
So many people are doing everything in their power to lose weight. They diet, cut calories, go jogging, join a gym, hire a personal trainer, and yet they still aren't losing the weight.
You are sabotaging your weight loss efforts. Your THOUGHTS are in your way.
Have you been struggling to lose weight despite your best efforts? You're not alone...
Your MIND could be what is preventing you from achieving your goals.
Some common thoughts that are standing in your way of your skinny jeans are:
Thought #1: "I can't change my body."
Let's start here. Your mind is a VERY powerful machine. If you tell yourself you can't do something, chances are you won't. You need to speak to yourself positively! Tell yourself that you are already at your goal weight. That you are working hard and seeing changes in your body. What you say to yourself matters!
Thought #2: "I'll start working on eating better and exercising next week."
This is an easy thought to have. So you missed a couple of workouts... ate a few too many sweets... and think that this weeks diet is completely blown and you might as well wait until next week to get started. This is all too common... which is why many people pick Monday to start a diet. Change your thinking! You have embarked on a new and healthy LIFESTYLE! Treats are allowed in this lifestyle, in moderation of course. Having an all or nothing attitude is just setting yourself up for failure. Set yourself up for success! Every little decision makes a difference in creating an overall healthier you. Celebrate that! Did you start your meal with fresh veggies? Great! Did you add 10 more minutes of exercise today than you did yesterday? Awesome! Celebrating these milestones will help you stay on track with your new and healthy lifestyle.
Thought #3: "If I eat this (diet food), I can have all I want."
Common misconception. Many people think that if a food is marketed as a diet food, or as something healthy, that they can eat as much of it as they want. A calorie is a calorie, regardless if it's a healthy calorie or not. Nuts, olive oil, avocado, fruit, etc... they are all healthy foods, but can easily be overeaten. It's best to portion your food out and congratulate yourself on your healthy choices!
Thought #4: "If I skip breakfast and lunch, I can eat more at dinner."
This one drives me nuts! Starving yourself all day and then binging at night will NOT help you achieve your weight loss goals. Again, you have to set yourself up for success! Start by eating a healthy breakfast, and continue eating small, healthy meals throughout the day so by the time you sit down at dinner you aren't starving and ready to eat everything in sight.
Speak positively to yourself. I believe in you, YOU need to believe in you!
